Featured Website: KIDS CO-OP Gymnastics – Tumble – Dance Center

The KIDS CO-OP is a gymnastics and dance center for pre-school through school age girls and boys. The KIDS CO-OP was founded in 1997 and I created their first website in 2004. Since then, the website has had 4 major upgrades with the most recent one that can be viewed here.

This site has many features but I will cover just a few them here.

Posting:

The most important part of the site is for the customer to be able to post to the home page. A post is were you enter your writing, links, links to images, and any information you want to display on your site.

The sidebar:

1.) The search feature is where the user can search the site for content specific information.

2.) Upcoming Events is linked to a Google Calendar that is on another page (not shown) and automatically updates itself every time the calendar is updated.

3.) The Image Gallery is where the customer can upload and maintain images they want to appear on the site. Images can can be added to the side bar or in a post.

4.) The KIDS CO-OP has a yearly dance recital called Star Quest. Some of the videos taken from this recital appear on YouTube and I have placed them in the sidebar. This has been a great way for parents of kids who are interested in finding out more about the KIDS CO-OP to get a better feel for who they are.

5.) The User Login on this site is only being used by myself and the KIDS CO-OP to maintain the site. All that is needed to maintain this site is an internet connection and any browser. No additional software is needed.

Analytics: “the science of analysis”

This site is tied into Google Analytics. Google Analytics shows you how people found your site, how they explored it, and how you can enhance their visitor experience. With this information, you can improve your website return on investment, increase conversions, and make more money on the web.

Site Promotion:

I actively promote this site on 4 major search engines in this order.

Note: that this site appears on all search engines but I focus on the above mentioned.

Charges:

A $300 start-up fee is charged and then thereafter a low monthly fee for a specified amount of time (usually 1 year) to spread the cost out over time. Each major and minor upgrades to the site during the contract time is free.

Feebies:

Do I do sites for free? Well maybe. You have to meet these requirements.

  1. You have to have a place to store the site and it must meet my requirements. I use WestHost.
  2. You must be located in Bethlehem, PA.
  3. The site must be challenging.
  4. A $300 start-up fee is still required.
  5. Your need must be great!

Go ahead and ask. That does not cost anything.
